Ala Lab studio

Custom Minecraft plugins.

We build plugins for Minecraft servers: economy, quests, events, menus and complete game modes. Paper, Spigot, Folia and Purpur, versions 1.8.8 to 26.3. A plugin runs on the server only, so players don’t need to install anything. Price and deadline are agreed before work starts.

What we build

Plugins we build.

From a single command to the game mode your whole server runs on. If your idea isn’t on the list, tell us about it anyway.

Economy and trading

Money that players earn and spend on your server.

  • Currency, balance and payments between players
  • Shops, sell-to-server buyers and auctions in a clean menu
  • Jobs and rewards for in-game actions
  • Works with Vault and other economy plugins

Example order: a buyer that lowers the price of a resource once a lot of it has been sold that day.

Quests and progression

What makes players come back to the server every day.

  • Quests and daily tasks
  • Levels, skills and classes
  • Items with special abilities and rarity
  • Login rewards, seasons and achievements

Example order: classes with skill trees that unlock as players level up.

Events and game modes

Events and rules built for your server alone.

  • Events that run for days or weeks, with tasks and rewards
  • Minigames and arenas
  • Complete roleplay and game modes
  • Leaderboards and player statistics

Example order: an arena with waves of mobs and a weekly leaderboard.

Admin tools and integrations

Less manual work for staff and fewer chains of third-party plugins.

  • Menus (GUI) instead of bulky config files
  • Commands and permissions for moderators, LuckPerms
  • PlaceholderAPI placeholders and a Discord link
  • A database and shared progress across a server network

Example order: replace a chain of five third-party plugins with one, with a single menu and config.

Versions and server software

Built for your server.

We don’t change your server version or software for a plugin: we build for what your players already play on. Most often that’s 26.x, 1.21.x and 1.20.1, and 1.8.8 on PvP servers.

  • Paper1.8.8 → 26.3

The software most servers run. A plugin for Paper also runs on its fork Purpur.

  • Spigot1.8.8 → 26.3

For servers that stay on Spigot. A plugin for the Spigot API runs on Paper too.

  • Folia1.19.4 → 26.3

Multithreaded server software for a large player count. A plugin for it is designed for region-based work from the start.

Which versions each server software supports
1.8.81.12.21.141.16.51.19.41.20.11.21.x26.x Paper1.8.8 → 26.3 Spigot1.8.8 → 26.3 Purpur1.14.1 → 26.3 Folia1.19.4 → 26.3

Most servers run these

Plugin or mod? A plugin runs on the server only. A mod is needed when the game itself changes on the player’s side: new block models, a custom interface, rendering.

Example tasks

What people come to us with.

Typical orders, without client names. This is what the “one sentence” a plugin starts from looks like.

  1. <Admin1> Mythic items with special abilities, rarity and their own way to obtain them.
  2. [Ala Lab] We can do that: rarity, abilities and drop chances all live in the config, so you can tune the balance yourself without a programmer.
  3. <Admin2> An item buyer with a handy menu to replace a bulky chain of several third-party plugins.
  4. [Ala Lab] One menu with your own prices and limits, and a few plugins fewer in your plugins folder.
  5. <Admin3> A 30-day event for a 100-player server: daily tasks, rewards and a leaderboard.
  6. [Ala Lab] Tasks for every day, rewards and a leaderboard. We load-test it so the TPS doesn’t drop.
  7. <Admin4> A complete roleplay mode: professions, economy and server rules.
  8. [Ala Lab] Send the server rules and we’ll work out the professions and the economy, then build the mode on a test server.

How we work

Four steps to a .jar.

At every step you know what is done and what comes next.

Path of a plugin

  1. Request

Describe what should happen on the server and name its software and version. We reply within 8 hours.

  2. Estimate

We clarify the mechanic, the plugins on your server and the load, and fix the scope, price and deadline before starting.

  3. Development and tests

You get working builds along the way; we test the plugin on a test server with your version and your plugins.

  4. Handover

The finished .jar, the settings file, an install guide and the support terms.

Price

What the price depends on.

Tick what your plugin needs and watch the amount of work grow. We quote a price once the task is clear and fix it before work starts.

What will your plugin have?

Approximate scope

Small

A command or a simple menu.

  • A command with a cooldown and permissions
  • A teleport menu for the server’s warps
  • A daily login reward
Medium

A shop, an item buyer or a quest system.

  • A buyer with prices and limits in a menu
  • Daily tasks with rewards
  • An auction between players
Large

A complete game mode with its own economy and rules.

  • A roleplay mode with professions
  • A month-long event with a leaderboard
  • A shared economy across a server network

This is a guide, not a price. We name the exact cost and deadline once the task is clear.

Questions

Questions about custom plugins.

What is the difference between a plugin and a mod?

A plugin runs on the server only; players don’t install anything. A mod changes the game on the player’s side: new block models, a custom interface, rendering. If a task can be solved with a plugin, that is easier for players.

Which servers do you build plugins for?

Paper, Spigot, Folia and Purpur, versions from 1.8.8 to 26.3. We check the server software, the version and the plugins already installed before the estimate.

How much does a custom plugin cost?

The price depends on the size of the system, the server software, the player count and integrations. We quote it once the task is clear and fix it, together with the deadline, before work starts.

Can several third-party plugins be replaced by one?

Yes. Send the list of plugins and what you need from them. We’ll tell you which is simpler: configuring the existing ones or writing one of your own.

Will the plugin work with my other plugins?

We test compatibility on a test server with the same version and the same set of plugins as yours.

What do I get at the end?

The finished plugin .jar, the settings file and an install guide. Source code, usage rights and support after release are agreed before we start.
